Administrative Officer (Management Services Officer) NOA at World Food Program – Various Locations – Amman

Summary

The World Food Programme (WFP) is seeking a Management Services Officer (Administration Officer) for a fixed-term position in Amman, Jordan. The role focuses on enhancing service delivery within the Management Services portfolio to support WFP’s mission of providing food assistance. Candidates must be Jordanian nationals and are expected to possess relevant educational qualifications and professional experience.

  • Duration: 1 year, with a possibility of extension based on performance
  • Eligibility: Open to Jordanian nationals only.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the preparation of the Management Services components for WFP’s Country Strategic Planning (CSP) and Resource Planning.
  • Support the creation of functional annual plans and the implementation of relevant policies and systems.
  • Collate and analyze data to support efficient planning and decision-making.
  • Maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders while identifying opportunities for improved operations.
  • Suggest improvements related to Occupational Safety and Health (OSH).
  • Promote sustainability through responsible practices in all activities.
  • Utilize digital tools to enhance operational workflows and customer service.
  • Assist with inter-agency initiatives to achieve cost savings and improve service quality.
  • Document issues during field missions and propose solutions.
  • Organize learning initiatives to enhance capacity among WFP staff and partners.
  • Adhere to emergency preparedness and response practices.
  • Manage existing resources and estimate new requirements for operational efficiency.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Education: Advanced degree in Business/Public Administration, Engineering, or a related field; or a first university degree with additional relevant experience.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of one year of postgraduate professional experience for Master’s degree holders, or three years for Bachelor’s degree holders.
    • Experience in at least one line of Management Services such as asset, facility, fleet, or travel management.
    • Ability to derive insights from data and performance metrics.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Strong understanding of diplomatic and organizational protocols.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and travel management software.
  • Capable of crisis management and problem-solving.
  • Proactive in monitoring performance and delivering high-quality service.

Languages:

  • Fluency in English (level C) and Arabic.

Expected Benefits:

WFP provides a range of benefits including annual, sick, and parental leave, allowances for eligible family members, and participation in the UN Joint Pension Fund. The expected net pensionable salary ranges from JOD 30,690 to 40,065 per year, depending on experience.
