- Conduct thorough inspections of welding activities to ensure compliance with technical specifications and industry standards.
- Review and approve Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Procedure Qualification Records (PQR), and Welding Procedure Qualification (WPQ) documents.
- Perform various NDT techniques, including ultrasonic testing (UT), radiographic testing (RT), magnetic particle testing (MT), and dye penetrant testing (PT).
- Evaluate welder qualifications and oversee performance qualification tests.
- Monitor pre-weld, in-process, and post-weld operations, ensuring safety and quality protocols are followed.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to resolve welding-related technical issues.
- Maintain accurate records of welding activities and participate in corrective action processes for welding defects.
- Stay updated with the latest welding technologies and industry standards.
- Collaboration: Work closely with Project Managers, Welding Engineers, NDT Technicians, Safety Officers, and other stakeholders.
- Salary Range: 8,000 QAR to 10,000 QAR
Skills:
- Educational Background: Mechanical BE/Diploma
- Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years in welding inspection within the oil and gas piping sector.
- Certifications: CSWIP 3.2.1, API 570, and NDT Level II in UT, RT, MT, and PT.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in various welding processes and quality control principles.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Software Skills: Familiarity with inspection and documentation software used in the industry.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written skills for effective reporting and collaboration.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to identify welding defects and ensure compliance with specifications.
