Key Areas of Responsibility and Tasks

  •  Drive business process consulting by translating customer business processes into IT solutions, including quality assurance
  • Help position disruptive business innovation
  •  Support end-to-end solution design across all relevant solutions (OnPremise, Cloud, and Hybrid), applying Avertra’s methodologies  
  • Participate in transition planning of customer solution landscapes
  • Drive deployment of SAP Model Companies for a specific area of business
  • Demonstrating profound knowledge of modeling standards and tools
  • Support for pre-sales activities
  •  Performance of feasibility studies/solution reviews
  • Support in escalated projects
  •  Taking over the responsibility from time to time as a (sub-)project lead
  • Takes responsibility from time to time as team lead and supports respective line manager(s) in people development tasks

Requirements

  1. Project Structuring:
  • Proficiency in defining Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and Network activities for organizing project work.
  • Familiarity with project structuring methods for large-scale, multi-phase, or complex projects, including milestone management.
  • Handling of project hierarchies and setting up various project profiles.
  1. Project Planning:
  • Expertise in project scheduling, resource allocation, and cost planning using SAP PS tools.
  • Knowledge of integrating financial and operational project plans (e.g., budget and timelines).
  • Experience in managing various project versions and tracking project baselines.
  1. Budgeting & Cost Management:
  • Setup and management of project budgets, including budget releases and availability control.
  • Integration with SAP CO (Controlling) for project cost accounting.
  • Monitoring project expenditure, settlements, and project variance analysis.
  1. Resource Management:
  • Hands-on experience with resource planning and allocation in SAP PS.
  • Integration with SAP HR or external tools for managing workforce and skill sets.
  • Managing external procurement and services related to project execution.
  1. Project Execution & Monitoring:
  • Expertise in tracking project progress through milestones, activity confirmations, and project status updates.
  • Handling of project-related procurement processes (integration with SAP MM).
  • Knowledge of project monitoring through key performance indicators (KPIs), earned value analysis, and performance metrics.
  1. Project Integration with Other SAP Modules:
  • Integration with SAP FI (Finance), CO (Controlling), and MM (Materials Management) for project procurement and cost control.
  • SAP SD (Sales and Distribution) integration for customer projects and billing.
  • Knowledge of PS integration with Production Planning (PP) and Plant Maintenance (PM) for manufacturing or maintenance projects.
  1. Revenue Recognition & Billing:
  • Expertise in setting up billing methods for projects (time-based, milestone-based, fixed price).
  • Integration with SAP SD for customer billing.
  • Familiarity with revenue recognition principles for projects.
  1. Settlement of Projects:
  • Understanding of settlement rules, including distribution of project costs to cost centers, assets, or profitability analysis (COPA).
  • Experience in managing settlements across complex project hierarchies and joint ventures.
  1. Master Data Management:
  • Competence in handling PS master data such as WBS elements, networks, and activity types.
  • Familiarity with change management and version control of project data.
  1. Reporting & Analytics:
  • Expertise in SAP PS reporting tools for project performance tracking.
  • Experience with dashboards, customized reports, and integration with SAP BW or BI for advanced analytics.
  • Knowledge of profitability analysis and reporting (COPA) for project outcomes.

Additional Skills:

  • SAP S/4HANA Experience: Familiarity with SAP S/4HANA for Project Systems, including new functionalities compared to SAP ECC.
  • Project Leadership/Management: Ability to lead project systems implementations, upgrades, and optimizations.
  • Industry-Specific Knowledge: Understanding of project management methodologies in various industries (e.g., construction, engineering, or IT).
  • Cross-Functional Experience: Working knowledge of integrating SAP PS with related modules like Investment Management (IM), Production Planning (PP), and Plant Maintenance (PM).
