Job Description
Report to Engineering Shift Leader, performing all assigned works regarding mechanical inspections, adjustments, parts assembly, repair works and lubrication in mechanical systems installed in port mobile equipment.Perform all works with the highest safety standards. Take active part in a safety-oriented culture. Exert and support stop work authority. Cooperate with HSSE on risk assessment evaluations and safe work permit forms completion.Provide accurate feedback to assigned work orders in CMMS platform, detailing works carried out, materials consumed and relevant status updates for serviced equipment.Accountable for good use of tools, spare parts and consumables destined for maintenance or repair works. Responsible for returning any parts or materials that are not used during work execution.Be observant of opportunities for improving equipment performance, proposing improvement suggestions when potential gaps are identified.Collect field process information and provide technical expertise for SOP optimization as per manager’s request.Participate in technical assessment evaluations and internal training events scheduled for the area. Work on building a knowledge base to comply with the expected assessment performance score range.Be actively involved in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) sessions, providing ground-level information and technical expertise to assess equipment breakdown events properly. Execute assigned corrective actions for complete defect elimination. Align with and support management strategies, collaborating with peers towards corporate goals.Flexibility on schedule upon unexpected equipment failure events outside assigned work hours, when greater manpower and specialized technical support is required to get asset back online.Availability to travel for cross-training.Engage on other responsibilities or workstreams as directed by immediate manager or higher-level stakeholders as per corporate needs.
Skills
Minimum 5 years of experience in automotive mobile equipment maintenance works. Proven experience of working with work order assignment systems. Mobile port equipment maintenance experience is a plus. Experience with Volvo, Cummins or Caterpillar engines is a plus.Experience in Safety-oriented culture organizations. Knowledge on use of risk assessment forms. Knowledge of industry fatal risks. Experience of working with safe work permits.Good practices in care of assigned tools, responsible use of consumables and spare parts. Experience in technical log updating and follow-up. Strong on providing detailed technical feedback on equipment status and findings upon maintenance service works completion.Problem-solving and analytical skills, being capable of suggesting creative and cost-efficient solutions for potential threats to asset health and sub-standard conditions identified in the equipment. LEAN organization experience is a plus.Knowledge of automotive mechanical systems maintenance, hydraulic systems maintenance, lubrication optimization, gearboxes and transmissions health monitoring, motor shaft alignment, suspension/axle maintenance and repair works, admission/exhaust systems troubleshooting, turbo maintenance and repair works, engine overhaul, Ultrasound and Vibration inspections, and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) techniques.Ability to draft hand-made drawings of mechanical parts, with all relevant technical parameters and measures, either for parts procurement, or to develop new parts for equipment upgrade.Ability to identify part numbers and product codes on mechanical components. Experience of locating component profiles out of technical parameters (dimensions, size, diameter, etc.) in technical parts manuals.Respectful approach when communicating and interacting with peers and managers.
