Job Description

A Mechanical Maintenance Engineer in a water factory is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical equipment used in water treatment, bottling, and packaging processes. The role involves troubleshooting mechanical issues, performing preventive maintenance, and improving equipment efficiency to minimize downtime and ensure production continuity.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Maintenance & Repair
  • Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance of pumps, motors, conveyors, valves, compressors, and other mechanical systems.
  • Diagnose mechanical failures and perform necessary repairs or replacements.
  • Ensure minimal downtime by responding quickly to breakdowns.
  1. Equipment Optimization
  • Monitor and improve the efficiency of mechanical systems.
  • Suggest and implement modifications to enhance performance and reduce energy consumption.
  1. Compliance & Safety
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement safety procedures for mechanical operations.
  • Keep records of maintenance activities, faults, and corrective actions.
  1. Collaboration & Reporting
  • Work closely with electrical engineers, production staff, and quality control teams to ensure smooth factory operations.
  • Document maintenance activities and report issues to management.
  • Assist in planning and budgeting for maintenance and spare parts procurement.
  1. Installation & Upgrades
  • Supervise the installation of new mechanical systems and equipment.
  • Assist in commissioning and testing of new machines.
  • Provide technical support during equipment upgrades and modifications.
