Job Description

Job Summary:

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing the activities of the Maintenance & Engineering department to ensure that all facilities are maintained in good working condition and all systems are in compliance with applicable safety and fire regulations to ensure a safe, functional, cost effective and comfortable environment.

Responsibilities & Duties:

  1. Providing leadership and management of the Technical department with a team of technical specialists and other personnel, implement and execute the company’s Technical goals to Slaughterhouse, Meet processing, Refrigeration, Rendering, and Water treatment plant.
  2. Planning organizing, communicating, coordinating and executing all technical related activities in an efficient and cost effective way that assures the healthy economical process.
  3. Responsible for prioritizing technical tasks and budget from the Maintenance department and assigns the technical specialists to execute tasks to ensure smooth functioning of all the mentioned departments.
  4. To inspect the production facilities, equipment and production site on a frequent base, to analyze critical points and identify control measures through experience to solve the issue and maintain the operational status to meet the minimum company’s standards which will ensure minimum equipment and production lines downtime.
  5. To advice the company’s management with capital/expense related projects proposing innovative and reliable solutions with, the aim of lowering production cost, For all projects related to improvement and/or expansion of the Poultry operation the Maintenace Manager will be involved in the process of planning, budgeting, designing, engineering and execution.
  6. To meet at a regular schedule with the department managers to discuss the technical and production related problems in their department and decided if any preventive maintenance, repair or change in method of operation is needed to be done. The department managers will report in writing to the maintenance manager about the production process details from the period following the previous meeting.
  7. To be involved in improving and maintaining reliability strategies and enforce company policies including in terms of technical implementation and controls the Hygienic and Bio-security procedures to lower the operational risks in the company’s poultry production cycle.
  8. To manage and control the maintenance department workshop to assure safe working conditions for the workers as per the workshop regulations including implementing regulations for fire precautions, disposal of waste, environmental protection etc.
  9. To establish, organize, coordinate and execute equipment repair, service and preventive maintenance programs as required per the equipment suppliers’ instructions on maintenance planning.
  10. . Documenting and maintaining records related to the technical management of mentioned departments.
  11. To administers and organize periodic training of the technical team especially in the field of latest know-how about poultry technology, machinery and equipment to ensure proper operations and maintenance.
  12. Make analysis of the list with available suppliers in the market with the required resources and ensure the right supplier is selected who can supply the goods at the right cost and organize the timely and proper requisition and order of spare-parts and other needs to prevent downtime for the equipment and production lines.
  13. Analyzing and checking the warranty conditions as agreed with the suppliers at the purchase of equipment to claim the costs of repair and replacement parts within the warranty period at this supplier.
  14. To establish an excellent working relationship with the resource suppliers through formal meetings and site visits ti assure a good cooperation.
  15. To be done by contacting these suppliers and keep them informed about the functional of the equipment when needed.
  16. To schedule and supervise the technical department employees and support them with their work to maintain and repair the production equipment and facilities related to the Poultry processing in the assigned department as well as evaluate performance of the technical employees.
  17. Managing the Maintenace team on a daily basis, ensuring their deployment, motivating them by involving them in various engagement initiatives at the work area, helping them improve the skills levels and managing their grievances in the best possible manner in order to maximize the people productivity.
  18. To assure that equipment technical and instruction manuals are present and up to date for easy access for good servicing and to be able to get the correct spare-parts from the chosen supplier.
  19. To recommend to the Management methods of reducing the cost of utilities as Electrical power, water consumption, waste water handling and to advice in the implementing of ‘new-energy’ solutions as Solar-and Wind energy where and when applicable.
  20. To follow and implement the company’s procedures for dealing with accidents, fires and emergencies at all times check with regular intervals that technical emergency equipment is in place and in a proper working condition.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in engineering with a minimum of 6experience or above of relevant experience.
  2. 6+ years of experience in poultry business.
  3. 10+ Years of experience in FMCG Sectors which should include managing the factories maintenance.
  4. Management-level experience is required (5+ years).
  5. Proficiency in both English and Arabic Languages.
