Job Purpose:
To improve the planning, development, and continuous enhancement of food safety and quality assurance procedures within school feeding and livelihood programs, ensuring alignment with WFP guidelines and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Under the direct supervision of the Senior Food Safety and Quality Associate, the incumbent will:
- Monitor and evaluate food safety procedures in school feeding and livelihood agribusiness projects to ensure compliance with WFP regulations.
- Provide guidance and enhance Food Safety and Quality protocols for school feeding modalities, emergency kitchens, and related programs.
- Oversee food safety inspections conducted by third-party service providers for school feeding operations.
- Assist in investigating food safety incidents to document lessons learned and reduce future occurrences.
- Evaluate food suppliers, farmers, and stakeholders to secure high-quality, locally sourced food items.
- Help develop, draft, and update technical specifications for school snacks in collaboration with the Regional Bureau.
- Prepare regular reports on food safety, quality control, and program performance for internal units.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of food safety and quality assurance training programs for staff in cooperating partners and food sourcing entities.
- Perform other related duties as required.
