air freight manager – Gulf Express Logistics

Gulf Express Logistics is freight forwarders based in Dubai since 2012 is looking to start air freight department with talnted and expered air freight manager.

The Air Freight Manager plays a critical role in the logistics and supply chain industry, particularly in the shipping and distribution sector. This position is responsible for overseeing and managing air freight operations to ensure timely and efficient delivery of goods. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of air freight processes, regulations, and best practices. In a dynamic environment like Dubai, the Air Freight Manager must be adaptable and proactive in addressing challenges while optimizing operational efficiency.

Responsibilities:

1. Starting air freight department from scratch.
2. Oversee daily air freight operations, ensuring compliance with regulations and company policies.
3. Coordinate with airlines, freight forwarders, and customs to facilitate smooth transportation of goods.
4. Manage and optimize air freight budgets, ensuring cost-effective solutions without compromising service quality.
5. Develop and implement strategies to improve air freight processes and reduce transit times.
6. Lead and mentor a team of logistics professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.
7. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess operational efficiency and identify areas for enhancement.
8. Negotiate contracts and rates with carriers and service providers to secure favorable terms.
9. Ensure accurate documentation and compliance with international shipping regulations.
10. Collaborate with other departments to align air freight operations with overall business objectives.
