We are seeking a Senior Product Owner with extensive experience in the entire software delivery lifecycle. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engaging with large organizations and various stakeholders, transforming business processes into well-defined requirements and specifications. This role requires a deep understanding of technical design principles to ensure alignment between envisioned solutions and technical implementation. Experience in a government organization is highly preferred. The Product Owner will act as the bridge between the development team and stakeholders, ensuring the product aligns with the vision, meets customer needs, and delivers maximum value.

Product Strategy

  • Drive the strategic product roadmap, outlining key initiatives, features, and enhancements planned over time.
  • Articulate the product vision and value proposition to customers and stakeholders.
  • Analyze market trends and customer needs to shape product direction and strategy.

Project Delivery

  • Collaborate closely with the Project/Delivery Manager on project timelines, deliverables, and scope management.
  • Execute Avertra’s methodology (MiFlow) to ensure consistency in product development.
  • Gather and establish product requirements: Collect, clarify, and translate business requirements into detailed documentation and designs for technical development.
  • Create, maintain, and prioritize the product backlog, leading backlog grooming sessions to decompose and estimate stories.
  • Ensure user stories are concise, understandable, and actionable for the development team.
  • Lead sprint planning sessions, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives to ensure optimal team performance.
  • Engage with customers to gather feedback and ensure their needs are met throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Develop mock-ups and work closely with the UX team to ensure a user-friendly design.
  • Define acceptance criteria for user stories, ensuring the development team understands the expected outcomes.

Team Collaboration

  • Serve as the key liaison between technical specialists and business end-users, facilitating system design and modifications to realize business strategies.
  • Train and support cross-functional teams on the product’s core value proposition and the problems it solves.
  • Provide implementation support and collaborate with marketing, communications, and training teams in support of prioritized programs.
  • Consult with cross-functional and cross-business unit stakeholders to support end-to-end development initiatives.
  • Provide regular project health status updates to upper management.
  • Transfer knowledge of the product to the Customer Success team to ensure seamless customer support.

Needed Competencies

  • Participate in discussions to explore desired business performance improvements.
  • Review and analyze current IT systems and processes to identify system capability gaps.
  • Document current and future business, system, and data flows to support solution design.

Development & Testing

  • Advise the development team to ensure the product is built according to specifications.
  • Collaborate with the testing team to develop relevant test scenarios and testing plans.

Implementation, Maintenance & Monitoring

  • Facilitate the implementation and roll-out of new functionalities, including training for end-users.
  • Plan and develop strategies to convert data from existing systems to new structures, if required.

Process Review & Enhancement

  • Continuously review and enhance processes or systems to align with changing business conditions and new product/service offerings.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of systems design methodology, analysis frameworks, and business process reengineering techniques.
  • Familiarity with project management tools, process documentation, software testing, and user acceptance testing techniques.
  • Highly detail-oriented with strong relationship management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and balance multiple tasks or projects effectively.
  • Proven ability to work as a team player, always willing to get the work done.

Preferences:

  • Certification of Capability in Business Analysis (CCBA)
  • Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP)
  • Agile Product Owner, Scrum, or Disciplined Agile Certification

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Technology, Business, Management Information Systems, Economics, or Engineering.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 7-8+ years of experience as a Product Owner or in a related field, preferably within a government organization or a similar large-scale environment.

Travel:

  • Travel within the UAE is required for client deliveries, with an onsite presence of 50-70%.

Work Schedule:

  • As per office schedule, with flexibility depending on project needs.
